Violinist Alexander Markov to Perform Unique Blend of Classical and Rock

Alexander Markov who has been hailed by critics and the public as one of the most celebrated virtuoso violinists in the world.

A Gold Medal winner at the Paganini International Violin Competition Mr. Markov has recorded six CDs as well as the DVD of the daunting 24 Paganini Caprices (distributed internationally by Warner) and has performed at many of the world's most prestigious concert venues including Carnegie Hall and Avery Fisher Hall in New York, Barbican Hall in London and Musikverein in Vienna.

Mr. Markov has performed as a soloist with many celebrated conductors such as Lorin Maazel, Charles Dutoit, Ivan Fischer and Neemi Jarvi as well as with many internationally-acclaimed orchestras including The BBC Philharmonic and Montreal, Philadelphia, Jerusalem, Houston and Budapest Orchestras. Alexander Markov has expended his musical creativity far beyond his performances as a classical violin soloist.

He composed the crossover epic Rock Concerto with James V. Remington who also designed for him a new, one-of-a-kind six-string electric violin. The patented electric violin has a unique sound and Markov performs Rock Concerto

Combining the most contrasting musical genres - classical and rock - Rock Concerto is a grand musical journey with wide audience appeal and many different moods and characters from dark, powerful and gothic to soulful, playful and humorous. The concept of the project is to bridge rock and classical audiences and attract more young people to such concerts.
