Good to know

Students under 18 stay within the school grounds unless they are with a parent or guardian. If a student would like to go out, a member of the Management can give permission, as long as a responsible adult goes with them.

Parents are required to give written permission for their child to go out without supervision in the afternoon or evening. This permission is to be sent to the Course Director before the course starts. We don't encourage this, and if we feel a student is putting themselves at risk, the permission will be withdrawn.

Adult students are free to come and go. Anyone whose behaviour puts others at risk may be asked to leave the course, without a refund. Decisions on discipline rest with the Course Director. Full details are given on arrival.

Please check whether you need a visa before you travel. Your passport should be valid for at least six months from the date you arrive in the UK.

If you don't need a visa, you will probably need an ETA. The ETA (Electronic Travel Authorisation) is a digital permission to travel to the UK. It is not a visa. Visitors of most nationalities who don't need a visa need one, including EU and US citizens; British and Irish citizens don't. You apply online or in the UK ETA app. It costs £20 (from 8 April 2026), is usually valid for 2 years or until your passport expires, and allows multiple visits.

Full details and the application are on GOV.UK: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/apply-for-an-electronic-travel-authorisation-eta. If you're unsure what you need, contact your nearest British consulate.

Giggleswick School has a strict no-smoking policy. Anyone smoking in a bedroom or common room will be asked to leave the course, without a refund of fees. Full details are given on arrival.

A £1,000 deposit secures your place, and the balance is due by 1 May 2027.

Early-bird prices apply to bookings made and paid in full by 30 November 2026.

If you cancel before 1 May 2027, the deposit is not refunded. If you cancel after 1 May 2027, no refund is possible. We strongly recommend insurance to cover cancellation costs.

The full terms, including what happens if we have to cancel the course, are in our Terms & Conditions.
